Our corporate responsibility

Radio Innovation CSR

In the modern world, communication has never been more critical. Antennas allow us to maintain contact with others across the globe while reducing outgoing costs and strain on energy consumption. Such an approach ensures that locations and people that previously struggled with signal range enjoy vital access to the outside world.
Such intentions have not been taken lightly, and considerations for the planet's future have been at the forefront of Radio Innovation's thinking. As a result, we abide by sustainability goals outlined by the United Nations while constructing our enhanced antennas.

What are the UN Sustainability Goals?

Image
The UNs, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) intend to bring international societies together and ensure we leave a flourishing, sustainable planet for our children and the generations beyond. This means bringing an end to poverty and social inequality, in addition to protecting the earth, by 2030.
It's undeniable that we at Radio Innovation, as a telecom company, will remain at the beating heart of these ambitions, and we are dedicated to playing our role in this vital work. The possibility of economic growth and global trading comes from greater education, physical and mental health, and clean energy. Radio Innovation is inspired by these noble intentions, and build our work around such ambitions.

Goals we focus a bit extra on:

Goal 4 - Quality education
The UN seeks to ensure that all nations and their citizens enjoy the same opportunities. This is currently not the case in many third-world countries, where children (and adults) are denied an extensive education due to a lack of technology and supplies. Enhanced communication, including internet access, can change this.

Goal 9 - Industry, innovation and infrastructure
Nations that already found themselves in a perilous and limited place with regard to trading and infrastructure were hit hardest by the global Covid-19 pandemic. The UN looks to aid all nations in building sustainable, reliable infrastructure to create work and provide the opportunity for prosperity. Greater access to technology can make this hope a reality.

Goal 10 - Reduced inequalities
Within certain countries, and certainly across the world, there is a significant disparity in wealth and opportunity. The UN wants to change this - and so do Radio Innovation. Enhancing communication and providing hitherto-untapped internet access can help citizens of less privileged nations gain the skills necessary to prosper in a global economy.

Goal 11 - Sustainable cities and communities
Safety is a prime concern of the UN. Oftentimes, crime and unsettled citizens arise from a lack of economic security or opportunity. By providing the opportunity to access the internet and greater educational opportunities, everybody will feel more confident that a brighter future is attainable - and sustainable.

Goal 12 - Responsible consumption and production
We live in a world of excess, and Radio Innovation - in conduction with the UN - are keen to change this. All our antennas are made from aluminium, ensuring that no materials are wasted and electricity is not required to run them. This reduces power drain and negates any need for fossil fuels.

Goal 13 - Climate action
All of the efforts of the UN will be largely redundant if we do not all play our role in slowing the impact of climate change. Radio Innovations always conducts our work with the environment in mind - and, perhaps more pertinently in the longer term - greater access to long-distance communication will reduce the environmental impact of air travel across the globe.

Saving a Protected Planet

Image
Mobile networks mean greater access to the information superhighway, enhancing access to knowledge, data, and insights. This can be used for personal growth, including self-education and health improvements, as well as providing the opportunity to share resources remotely. A rapid virtual network also minimizes the need for physical travel, which drastically reduces the likelihood of pollution to air, water, and land that is in compliance with Climate Action, the thirteenth of the UN's goals. Pertinently, the antennas created by Radio Innovation also use just aluminium and air, powered by solar and wind technology. All power is directed into the communication, with no waste that could cause environmental harm. Communication via mobile networks instead of physical travel will see considerably fewer CO2 emissions entering the atmosphere. In addition, superior energy efficiency means that fewer sites need to be built. With Radio Innovation antennas offering an increase in coverage of some 400% in rural areas, this can make a massive difference to nations and civilizations that seek to maintain unspoiled, protected terrain.

Encouraging Growth, Independence, and Equality

Image
Throughout the world, people live by a comparatively simple coda. The more opportunities are available in a nation, the greater the potential reward to its citizens. This will invariably lead to increased quality of life for all concerned, as a country can experience sustained, independent growth. Enhanced communication networks are at the heart of such ambition. Access to data means superior education and significant potential for better health – physical and mental alike. Developing nations, in particular, will benefit from this. The infrastructure of these territories can work from a new, elevated baseline. Bringing access to information to every corner of the globe, no matter how far-flung a territory may appear on a map, also encourages activity in the global trading marketplace. Coupled with enhanced educational opportunities, this ability to trade will aid governments in guiding their countries out of poverty. This improvement in minimal living standards is particularly important to Radio Innovation. That is why our technology is available at a considerably more affordable rate than most competitors. This cost-saving model ensures that communication networks are available in territories that previously considered this a luxury beyond their financial reach. If existing antennas are in place, they can be replaced with a Radio Innovations novel solution. If there is no existing mobile internet, new networks can be installed - leading to sustainable solutions that benefit the many, not just the few.
Such an approach will also reduce the inequalities keenly felt across the globe. With enhanced communication technology, steps can be taken toward eliminating terms like first- and third-world. Instead, all the world's citizens can enjoy similar opportunities and potential. With the global population continuing to rise, especially those located in cities, steps must be taken to improve the connection quality for urban locales. Government regulators limit the new cell towers construction and one way to improve the connection in cities is to make the technology more efficient, switch the conventional antennas to RI high-gain antennas. In many developed countries, it is time for the infrastructure to be rebuilt. By implementing the innovative high-gain, high-capacity antenna technology fewer cells need to be built. It correlates with the UN Sustainable Goals. By striving to improve the quality of life of people within these territories, infrastructure will also take great leaps forward. In addition to communicating across the planet, no matter where friends, family, or associates are located, transportation hubs and accommodation standards will also be improved.

Efficiency in Energy Use and Consumption

Image
Previously, we have discussed how important it is to reduce emissions and protect our planet. This goal sits hand in hand with another of the UN's intentions – promoting energy efficiency. This matters to Radio Innovation too, which is why we are devoted to producing and constructing aluminum antennas with no electrical parts. The choice to use aluminum is dictated by physics as well as an environmental decision, as this metal is one of the most oft-recycled materials of any kind in the world. What's more, aluminum – especially when not paired with delicate electronic parts – is hardy. The antennas created by Radio Innovation are likely to last up to 30% longer than others, ensuring that access to information and communication networks remain open for as long as possible.
While it could easily be argued that we are currently living within a divided world, we have the power to change this. To do so, we must maintain open communication channels. This will help us remember that humankind has more that unites us than divides us. The power to communicate across the globe with ease will play a key role such unity, helping to place all nations in the future on a more even footing. The UN aims to achieve these lofty goals by 2030. Radio Innovation is determined to play a part in making this intention a reality.
